In 2024, you probably won't go more than a day without hearing "self-care," but what does self-care mean, and why is it important?
Self-care is unique to each and every person, so my definition of self-care might look very different from yours, but we can agree that self-care is most commonly defined as rituals that you practice to take care of your body and mind. Self-care practices will differ based on what feels good to you and involve consciously engaging in activities that will make you healthier, whether your mental or physical health.
Adopting daily, weekly, or even monthly self-care practices can improve your mood and overall well-being, and we can agree when you feel good, you look good, and so on. At Elite Salon and Spa, we are passionate about self-care and offer services that will inspire you to continue to care for yourself at home and find your perfect customized beauty rituals.
Some of our favorite self-care ideas include:
- Give yourself a mini spa day between facials, take a warm shower, exfoliate your face and finish with a hydrating face mask, bonus points if you curl up with a good book while you wait!
- Apply a hair mask to soak in for extra time while you run some errands, straighten up, or just enjoy doing nothing.
- Start your day with some warm water and lemon or fresh green juice. This will have you feeling good all day.
- Take a long hot bath, and soak your troubles away with some Epsom salt and scented candles.
- Dry brush your body and moisturize before bed, so once you climb into your cozy sheets for the day, you'll doze off knowing you did something great for your body
